Bembridge crew

Guy rejoined the RNLI in 2009 and took over as the full-time coxswain on 1 July 2018. He is the 11th coxswain at Bembridge. Before becoming coxswain, Guy was a marine officer on pilot launches for Associated British Ports. He has extensive knowledge of the Solent and local area.

James is our deputy assistant ALB/ILB coxswain assessor and trainer. He is a local property developer who has lived here all his life and has been an active member for over 20 years.

John is our full-time mechanic. The lifeboats are in his blood – he is the fourth generation of crew and soon his son will join us too. John grew up in Bembridge and makes an ideal trainer for local knowledge.

Dawn is the first female ILB helm and ALB crew. By day, she is a professional sports massage and soft tissue therapist.

Steve is our assistant mechanic and a former teacher. Having no previous sea experience, he joined Bembridge RNLI and soon became a valued member of the team.

Martin is a retired policeman and now an ambulance technician, as well as a motorcycle instructor. He is an active member of the ALB crew, a navigator and trainer.

Ken is now retired and, having been with us for over 12 years, he is a very experienced ALB crew member.

Justin is another of our assistant mechanics and a local property developer.
