Westerham celebrates the RNLI 200th Anniversary in Words and Music
RNLI 200th Anniversary Celebration, featuring the Oxted Brass Band and the Dockyard Dogs Shantymen, reliving 200 years of maritime history.
Come to Westerham to help us celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the foundation of the RNLI in words and music. The sensational brass players from the Oxted Town Band are joined by the Dockyard Dogs Shantymen, and together they will tell the story of the last 200 years of maritime history.
The Oxted Band
Based in Oxted Surrey, the Oxted Band is a versatile amateur Brass Band that performs throughout the south east of England.
Oxted Band was founded in 1901 although local musicians were meeting before that. The band’s founder is given as one Arthur Paul Barry who is also described as the band’s teacher.

Dockyard Dogs Shantymen
The Dockyard Dogs Shantymen are a group of wonderful male singers who fundraise for the RNLI.
