Making Waves Exhibition RNLI Cymru 200
Join us as we explore the RNLI's History in Cymru/Wales. From boatmaking innovation and lifesaving technology to the stories of stations past and present - there's plenty to see, hear and do, including the chance to see one of the world's first Rigid-hulled Inflatable Boats, or RIBs, in person!
For our 200th year we've teamed up partners at National Museum Wales to bring you two amazing new exhibitions exploring the RNLI in Cymru/Wales - reflecting on the RNLI's contribution to safety at sea around the Welsh coastline.
From shipping disasters to stranded holidaymakers, the types of rescues have significantly changed and with that so has the equipment needed to carry them out.
Discover the story of the innovative Rigid-hulled Inflatable Boat, or RIB, that was designed and built in Wales's Atlantic College - a design that still inspires boat design today! Hear the stories from the people that have used them, past and present and get up close and personal with one of the world's first RIBs, in person.
