Faringdon Fundraising Branch
FARINGDON IN FULL SWING FOR XMAS
Faringdon fundraising is in full swing and five more market stalls are planned before the big day.
They'll come hard on the heels of two stalls at Witney Market this October which made nearly £400.
Liaison officer Dave Thompson says: "All told we've raised around £2,500 this year which is a big figure for a small branch about as far away from the sea as you can get.
"As ever we could do with more volunteers but I'm confident we can at least nudge the £4,000 mark with the stalls we have until the end of 2022."
Fundraising earlier in the year includes £1,100 from Dave's sponsored 10-mile circuiting of a noted local landmark, £645 from a stall inside Tesco supermarket and a £355 from another stall at Shrivenham Fete.
Dave, 77, says:: "The latest stall at Witney raised around £225 with over half of it coming from donations rather than the sale of merchandise.
"People are most generous and the RNLI continues to enjoy great support and affection wherever you go."
The next stalls are in Faringdon Market on November 1 and 19 and December 6 with ones at Witney on November 12 and December 17.
