We are a well-established, lively branch dedicated to putting the fun into fundraising for the mutual benefit of Lifeboats nationally and our local community.

The branch is managed by a small committee of volunteers with complementary backgrounds. We have a free membership of around 200 local individuals, with whom the Committee regularly communicates on forthcoming events and items of interest. We liaise, too, with other branches in the area.

We are proud of an impressive fundraising record, with over £1m generated for the RNLI to date. We are committed to maintaining this kind of success through teamwork involving members, their friends and families - plus the community at large - in a lively programme across the year.

We need a secretary with basic computer skills to replace our current secretary, about to retire. The role is to communicate with the committee and the RNLI's local fundraising manager and also to help coordinate and supervise fundraising events.

We would also like to recruit someone with experience of public relations and publicity to take over and create new opportunities for publicising our fundraising events and expanding our supporter branch membership.

Lastly, we need more young members who want to help and are keen on the wonderful work of the RNLI.

Committee meetings take place about six times a year, usually just before the planning of each fundraising event. 

Updated management accounts are presented by the Treasurer at each committee meeting and the annual accounts are usually prepared and approved by the committee in January and submitted to the branch membership at the AGM.

We hold our AGM, usually at the end of May or early in June.
