Director of Lifesaving Operations

As a mariner, and before coming ashore in 1998, John held a number of operational commands involved in the installation and maintenance of international subsea telecoms systems. Since coming ashore, John has held some key senior management roles including successfully leading both operations and service delivery teams. He most recently held the role of Managing Director for Nautilus Marine Services Plc and he has lived and worked in the USA and in Asia. He was Chief Operating Officer and Interim Chief Executive at Hallin Marine Subsea. John is also a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

John joined the Rotary club as a volunteer in 2014 and supports various charities and charitable work.

He is excited about joining the RNLI and bringing all of these skills together into his new role.

John has enjoyed travelling throughout his career and he continues to do so with his wife and family when they can. He has four adult children who live all over the UK. He is a keen road cyclist and enjoys walking with their dogs as well as being a spectator at international and club rugby games when possible.

Lifeboat volunteers need your help right now

Our crews are facing their toughest Christmas ever. Call outs are increasing, but RNLI income has gone down. And people are still getting into danger in the water. It’s a Perfect Storm. But you can help them through it with a donation today.
