Newbiggin Lifeboat Station, the oldest operational lifeboat boathouse in the United Kingdom, dates back to 1851. The crews have been presented with 16 awards for gallantry, and today the station operates an Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat.

Entrance to the shop is though the main boat hall doors. If you are planning on visiting us please park at church point car park. We are a 2 minute walk along the prom. For any accessibility needs please contact us.

Visitors are welcome to watch the lifeboat launch on exercise from the prom. Please keep the slipway clear for yours other users' safety. The lifeboat usually launches for training at the following times:

Tuesdays: 6pm-6.30pm
Sundays: 9am-9.30am
