Situated on the north Wales coast, Conwy inshore D class Lifeboat Station has provided search and rescue cover for 40 years. The crews have been presented with three awards for gallantry.
This station is classed as a Discover station. Our crews from Discover stations are equally welcoming to visitors but many of these stations were built before visitors were considered. These stations normally open their boathouse doors during the summer months.

The Director of Community Lifesaving and Fundraising for the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution), Leesa Harwood, recently visited Rhyl lifeboat station on a fact-finding visit to North Wales.
A 70-year old man who was dramatically rescued after falling into the water at the weekend, returned to Conwy RNLI Lifeboat Station to thank the volunteers who saved his life.
Statistics reveal that the number of people rescued by Welsh RNLI lifeboats in 2014 is at its highest since 2006.

1966Inshore Lifeboat Station established in June with the placing on service of a D class lifeboat. 1970The Thanks of the Institution inscribed on Vellum accorded to Messrs Brian Jones, Ronald Craven and Trevor Jones for the rescue of two men from the cabin cruiser Fulmar which had broken down one mile west of West Shore, Llandudno on the afternoon of 30 August. 1995New D class lifeboat D482 was placed on service on 21 June. 2004The new class of lifeboat IB1, D627 Arthur Bate II was placed on service on Wednesday 18 August. D425 has been withdrawn.
2014The new D-class lifeboat The May Bob was placed on service in August, funded by the legacy of Mavis (May) Kane.
