Sutton Coldfield may be about as far inland as it's possible to be in the United Kingdom, but we have a very active and lively RNLI Branch.
Our programme is varied throughout the year and includes an annual coffee morning, an RNLI Awareness Day at the Gracechurch Centre in the centre of the town, and our very well supported annual concert which is always a sell out! We also have a number of RNLI local collections throughout the year.
We are always happy to visit groups to talk about the work of the RNLI.
June and July are a particularly busy time for our Education Presentations primarily to schools and groups for young people, eg Brownies and Beavers as they get ready for their holiday trips where their safety by the sea is our prime concern.
As an RNLI branch we have adopted Seahouses lifeboat station in Northumberland. It's a busy station being close to the causeway to Holy Island and near the Farne Islands.
We all have the very greatest respect for those lifeboat crew members who risk their own lives every time they go out on a shout.
We'd be very pleased to hear from anyone interested in finding out more about the work of RNLI in Sutton Coldfield. A warm welcome awaits!
