RNLI Hastings December Dip 2026

Hastings RNLI Lifeboat Station will hold their third annual December Dip this year to raise vital funds for the lifesaving work of its volunteer crew.

This festive event for the local community will take place on Sunday 13th December. Participants will be encouraged to raise money for their local lifeboat station by braving a quick sea dip in waters that average a bracing 11°C in December.

Hosted at Hastings Lifeboat Station, the event will open for registration from 9.30am, with the first participants set to take the plunge from 11am. Each participant can enter for £10 and they will be encouraged to raise sponsorship from friends and family – registered participants should set up their JustGiving pages. There will be limited registration at the event on the day.

To commemorate the occasion each participant will be given an especially designed swim badge. After their dip, participants will receive a hot drink and a sweet treat.

For those not participating in the dip, there will be Christmas music to enjoy as well as the RNLI shop being open with hot drinks.

Full safety measures will be in place, including lifeguards.

This event is open to both adults and children over the age of 12. Younger children are welcome to attend but cannot take part in the dip. All children will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.

All participants are asked to arrive for sign in at the lifeboat station between 9.30 and 10.30 am where they will be given a wristband. This wristband must be worn at all times and checked before and after the dip.
